Sai Bioenergy Ghana Private Limited, in partnership with the 24-Hour Economy & Accelerated Export Development Secretariat (24H+ Authority) is developing a 1,500 MW utility-scale Solar Photovoltaic (PV) power plant integrated with a 250 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The project will be developed in three phased tranches of 100 MW, 500 MW, and 900 MW with the BESS being constructed during Phase 1 to enhance grid stability. The project also includes a 1,000-ton-per-day Compressed Biogas / Liquified Bio-Methane Plant, supported by a dedicated Napier Grass and other energy crops plantation, all covering an area of 35,041.70 hectares in Buipe, in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region.

The project is titled “1500 MW Solar PV + 250MW Battery Energy Storage System & 1000 TPD Compressed Biogas/Liquified Bio-Methane Projects in the Central Gonja District, Savannah Region of Ghana” and is to be executed through two separate special purpose vehicles, with Sai Bioenergy Ghana Private Limited being the main project proponent.
